Answers

Common questions,
honest answers.

Specifics on spot pricing, tax exemption, scrap payouts, shipping, dealer requirements, and settlement timing — the way Bayshore actually works.

Buying

Buying bullion from Bayshore.

How is bullion pricing determined?

+

All bullion prices are pegged to live spot, refreshed continuously throughout the trading day. Your price is locked at the server-side spot snapshot captured the moment you submit your order — not the moment you added the item to your cart.

Do you pay sales tax on bullion?

+

No. New Jersey exempts investment-grade precious-metals bullion from state sales tax. Orders ship at 0% tax. Numismatic and collectible items may be taxed in some jurisdictions.

Are your products LBMA-recognized?

+

Yes. We deal exclusively in bullion from LBMA Good Delivery refiners and major sovereign mints (US Mint, Royal Canadian Mint, Royal Mint, Perth Mint, PAMP Suisse, Valcambi, and others).

Can I pick up my order in person?

+

Yes — in-store pickup is free during business hours. Bring a government-issued ID matching the order name.

Selling & Smelting

Selling and on-site smelting.

How much do you pay for scrap gold or silver?

+

Up to 98% of the assayed fine-weight melt value on qualifying lots. Because we refine in-house with on-site smelting and XRF assay, there is no middleman taking a slice. Final payouts depend on purity, lot size, and current spot.

What is XRF assay and why does it matter?

+

X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) is a non-destructive test that identifies the exact metal composition of an item without melting or scratching it. It gives both sides an instant, defensible read on purity — eliminating "trust me" pricing on the counter.

How is weight verified?

+

Every intake is weighed on a Mettler Toledo certified scale, sealed by New Jersey Weights & Measures. Witnessed weigh-ins are available on request for high-value lots.

How long does settlement take?

+

Same business day for most accepted offers. Lots requiring on-site smelting are settled after the post-melt assay is finalized — typically the same business day for standard lots, next business day for very large refining runs.

Dealer Accounts

Dealer and trade accounts.

Do you work with dealers?

+

Yes. Bayshore runs a dedicated dealer program for jewelers, pawn shops, estate firms, and smaller dealerships across NJ, NY, PA, and CT. Approved accounts quote against the posted rate sheet — no haggling tables, no shifting markups.

What do I need to open a dealer account?

+

A valid government-issued photo ID for the principal(s), a federal EIN or state-issued business tax ID, a resale certificate or precious-metals dealer license where applicable, and a brief lot-profile so we can calibrate settlement. Approval typically lands inside 72 hours.

Who is my point of contact?

+

Andrew. One account manager handles the relationship end-to-end — documentation, approval, quoting, settlement, and follow-up. No round-robin call queue, no hand-offs.

Payment & Shipping

Payment, shipping, and logistics.

How do you pay sellers?

+

Wire, business check, or Zelle — your choice. We do not use Stripe, Square, PayPal, or any other card processor for buyback settlement. Zero hold periods, zero processor fees taken from the agreed number.

Do you ship orders nationwide?

+

Yes. Flat $15 fully-insured, signature-required, end-to-end-tracked shipping anywhere in the continental United States via USPS Registered Mail or UPS Next Day Air depending on order size.

Where is Bayshore Bullion Exchange located?

+

75 Route 36, Keansburg, NJ 07734. Serving the Bayshore region of New Jersey and the broader Northeast since 2013.

What are your hours?

+

Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. Saturdays and Sundays by appointment for larger lots and dealer clients.

How do I contact Andrew directly?

+

Call (732) 895-5200, email andrew@bayshorebullionexchange.com, or walk in during business hours. Andrew or a member of his team will answer — no call centers, no portal tickets.
