On-site
molten gold smelting.

National dealers ship your scrap to a third-party refiner and quote off an estimate. We melt in-house. You can stand at the counter and watch the bar pour.

Why we smelt on premises

The slowest part of refining used to be the refiner.

For dealers liquidating estate lots, jewelers consolidating bench scrap, and pawn shops running monthly buybacks, the slowest part of the workflow is usually the refiner. Material leaves your premises, sits in queue, and returns weeks later as a number on a settlement sheet.

Bayshore reverses that. Your lot is weighed, XRF’d, and melted in our shop. We pour to a uniform bar, re-assay the bar, and settle the same business day. For high-value clients we offer witnessed melts — you stay through the process.

The result is a tighter feedback loop, fewer surprises, and a paper trail you can hand to your accountant.

How it works

Seven steps from intake to paid.

Every melt runs the same loop. The only variable is the size of the bar at the end.

01

Intake

Lot received at the counter — estate piece, bench sweep, or multi-kilo dealer parcel. Logged against a lot ID before anything else.

02

XRF verification

Every distinct sub-lot is XRF-read for elemental composition. The screen is what we work against, not the hallmark stamp.

03

Weigh

Mettler Toledo certified scale, sealed by NJ Weights & Measures. Customer present, witnessed weigh-in on request.

04

Smelt

Induction furnace for production lots; torch melt for small or sensitive lots. Material stays on premises through the pour.

05

Pour & sample

Bar poured, marked with lot ID, sampled for a confirming assay so the final number is defensible end-to-end.

06

Final assay

Post-melt XRF on the cooled bar. Yield-adjusted offer is presented against the live spot snapshot at lock.

07

Settlement

Wire, business check, or Zelle the same business day. Zero processor fees taken from the agreed number.

Before you ship

Unusual lot? Call first.

Mixed alloys, antique jewelry, plated work, contaminated bench sweeps, broken safe-deposit estate piles — we’ve seen the spectrum. Call before you ship and we’ll advise on the best path before any cost is incurred.
